Homa
Homa (in Persian ???) is a famous Iranian mythological creature and symbol in Persian art. The symbol has an ancient history which dates back to the Achaemenid Persians. Symbols of Homa were used in the Ancient Achaemenids' masterpiece, Perspolis, on the top of the palace's columns, resembling griffins. Its most notable contemporary appearance is the symbol of Iran's national airline, Iran Air, which is the animated form of the original Persepolis statues. Also Iranian people say that in the past Persians used Homa to choose kings: the person who Homa set on him became king of Persia.
